Whitney Thompson ANTM 10 Winner
Who won America’s Next Top Model? Whitney.
Despite all the waifs and skinny models, ANTM 10 has been won by Whitney - a plus size model. Whitney beat off competition from Anya and Fatima after a Cover Girl shoot left her the clear winner. The series went through the usual ANTM cycle 10 with plenty of tears, fights and catty comments. For the most part, Whitney managed to keep her head throughout and relied on her sassy wit rather than nastiness, which inevitably helped her towards the win.
The result comes as a bit of a surprise as everyone was expect that Anya would win ANTM. The judges, although praising Whitney’s personality, seemed to hold Anya in much higher regard for her high fashion, distinctive look. Before the show, Anya was the big favourite and Whitney Thompson the outside bet. However, Whitney’s more commercial style and look won through in the end.
A Whitney ANTM victory sends a great message to young girls looking for fame in the model industry. Hopefully, this will see a shift away from frighteningly thin models and towards a fuller and more healthy look.
Her win means she becomes a Cover Girl, gets a billboard in Times Square and assures her of a career as America’s Next Top Model.
