HTC Diamond Phone
May 15, 2008 in Technology
High Tech Computer Corp (HTC) has announced its new “Touch Diamond” phone.
The Diamond Phone will be available in Europe in June and in the US and Canada in the last quarter of 2008.
The new phone gives you high-speed mobile Internet access making using sites such as Google Maps and YouTube a viable proposition for mobile phones. But the feature the company are promoting most is the TouchFlo 3D interface. According to HTC this provides ‘animated access’ to people. What does ‘animated access’ mean? Your guess is as good as mine (and probably much better - I don’t have a clue).
The phone’s operarting system is powered by Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional.
There is no doubt that the HTC Diamond Phone will cause a stir in the mobile phone market. It is far ahead of the others in the field at the moment. Their competitors will be eager to pounce on this new development to prevent HTC running away with the mobile phone market.
There certainly is a race to stay ahead of the game. This month has seen new mobile launches from companies such as Samsung, RIM and Motorola. Yet more companies are expected to launch new models in the very near future including the much anticipated new phone from Apple. The mobile phone industry is now only matched by the computer industry in how fast it is moving. The question has to be asked: how long can the companies continue with this? With the economic slowdown, you have to expect that people will forego the luxury of the latest mobille phone and make do with their existing phones. What reason is there to upgrade to the HTC Diamond Phone? Very little at all of real value. If the economic slowdown really starts to bite, people’s new mobile phones will be one of the first things cut from the budget - particularly high end mobile phones like the HTC Diamond Phone.
